COVID-19 Update

In the heart of the pandemic, when the companies failed to help their own employees, our union stepped up. Our union stewards voted to allocate $70 thousand dollars in Covid relief last May, to help our members in this difficult time. We are proud to say that over 1200 members received $300 each from this program over the last 2 years, at a cost of close to $400 thousand dollars.

We have now spent the entire COVID emergency budget, and there are no longer funds. Therefore the payments of $300 for new COVID quarantines will be suspended immediately.

The hardship fund (for extreme medical emergencies) and the death benefits will continue.

Our focus now turns to the fight at the Capitol: Getting the Senate to pass the Governor’s budget that would pay $1500 to every essential worker. It is time the government and the companies do their part!
