“Why did I go on strike twice for affordable healthcare, a raise and sick days? So I can spend more time with my kids, and so that they can have a better future”-James Matias, security officer

Now they are trying to take it away…

Corporate Agenda of Division so far:

1.   Break our union through anti-worker laws like “right to work” (see below), so they can cut our wages, and make more for themselves.

 2.   Lobby government to make their corporate buddies even richer: with massive tax breaks for the rich and de-regulation.
3.   Blame immigrants & Muslims to keep us fighting each-other while they laugh all the way to the bank.

What are “Right to work” laws?

These laws allow some workers  to get union pay and benefits, without paying union dues.  They don’t pay dues, but the union still is required to represent them, and cover their costs like taking a grievance to arbitration!  This divides workers, and makes our union weak.

What is the impact on workers? $7,675 less per year!*
The real origin of “right-to-work” for less!
vance_muse_rsThis law came from Texas in the 1940s, spear-headed by a lobbyist of the big oil companies named Vance Muse (who also lobbied against women’s right to vote, and for child-labor, and against the 8-hour workday!)  His “Christian American Association” was closely associated with the Texas Ku Klux Klan, and publicly opposed unions because they integrated white women and black men in the same organization.

We won’t be divided!
