On February 16, 2009, SEIU Florida was the first organization to endorse Kendrick Meek's bid for the U.S. Senate. Over the course of the campaign until Kendrick Meek's win last night in the Florida Democratic Senate primary, more than 1,000 volunteers engaged in grassroots efforts across the state to support him.

The 30,000 members of SEIU Minnesota announced their endorsement of DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton in a Capitol news ceremony on August 24. Dayton has outlined a clear plan to grow jobs by investing in infrastructure and clean energy and will ensure the richest Minnesotans pay their fair share of taxes.

More and more, political parties in Rwanda are looking to embrace the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to organize, educate and activate voters to build political strength. The hope is that by increasing the sharing of tactics, ideas, and resources among parties, we can ensure that the Rwandan political sphere of the future will never be the breeding ground for ethnic division and genocide that it once was.
