Mark Dayton earns the support of SEIU Minnesota members
Dayton endorsed by 30,000 member union

In August, the 30,000 members of
SEIU Minnesota announced their endorsement of DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark
Dayton in a Capitol news ceremony.
Dayton has outlined a clear plan to
grow jobs by investing in infrastructure and clean energy and will
ensure the richest Minnesotans pay their fair share of taxes.
Moreover, Mark Dayton has been an ally of labor for many years. One instance is illustrated in the photo on the right. He joined the picketers for the lockout of SEIU Local 26 window washers in April 2010.
Dayton's record in support of working families stands in sharp contrast to that of Republican candidate Tom Emmer. Emmer voted against putting
27,000 Minnesotans back to work on needed infrastructure projects and
against extending unemployment benefits to Minnesotans who have lost
jobs in the recession.
Emmer also proposed an amendment on the floor of the Minnesota House to eliminate the state minimum wage, and his campaign has recently been at the center of a discussion of corporate influence and money in elections.
